Congratulations to pianist and composer John Burke ’11, who has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best New Age Album for his 2016 release “Orogen”!
Since graduation, John has released six albums: four solo piano albums, a collaborative work featuring piano, flute and spoken word; and, a soundtrack to accompany a production of “A Streetcar Named Desire.” His album “Orogen” and other works are available for purchase or download on .

At Oglethorpe, John majored in Spanish and minored in music, studied abroad in Madrid, and was active in theatre. He was named the 2010 鈥淪inger of the Year鈥� and the 2011 鈥淚nstrumentalist of the Year鈥�. He is a member of national leadership honor society.
In 2015, John earned a Master of Public Administration in Management and Finance from Georgia State University. He is currently associate director of music at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Atlanta.
