Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst invited several ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV students, faculty and staff to a recent city council meeting for the reading of a proclamation declaring October Arts and Humanities Month in the city.
“The Arts are vital components of education, teaching students to observe closely, interpret creatively, and think critically, and participating in the Arts ignites wonder and imagination,” the proclamation states.
The invitation recognized the important role Oglethorpe arts and culture programs and facilities play in the community. Oglethorpe’s Conant Performing Arts Center and the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Museum of Art are the only venues of their kind in Brookhaven.
