Dr. John Nardo named incoming Associate Provost

Dr. John Nardo, professor of mathematics, has been named ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV’s next Associate Provost, beginning July 1, 2017.

“I am confident that his energy, acumen, and passion for OU will lead to great success,” wrote Dr. Glenn Sharfman, provost and vice president for academic affairs, in his announcement.

Dr. Nardo earned his BA at Wake Forest in both English and Mathematics. He then continued on to Emory University where he earned both his MA and Ph.D. in Mathematics.

[contextly_sidebar id=”NuBG5Hqn3sXqMzDaiNBWEVkJdWfSnAdQ”]Dr. Nardo has taught at OU since 2000 and has been one of its leaders in pedagogical reform through his work with (Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities). Dr. Nardo was previously Acting Co-Provost for one year and has served on most of Oglethorpe’s major committees; he presently chairs both Faculty Council and Tenure & Promotions. He was recognized by his peers as an outstanding teacher in 2003 and has been a vocal supporter of students through his leadership in ODK and other student organizations.

Dr. Nardo’s teaching and research interests include knot theory, probability, statistics, topology, and mathematical economics.
