Dr. Jay Lutz, professor of French, recently presented at the  (SAMLA) conference in Durham, N.C., as part of a panel organized by the . His paper focused on the Senegalese filmmaker and author .

Dr. Lutz is chair of the Scandinavian section at the SAMLA conference in Jacksonville, Fla. on November 4-6, 2016.  He also served as a peer review reader for the , the association’s online journal, and as a member of the association’s executive committee.
