Now in its 13th year,  is highly competitive, with candidates submitting a statement on liberal education, after first being nominated by the president and academic dean at their own institutions.
This year’s seminar, Liberal Education: Approaching the Digital drew professors from some of the nation’s nationally ranked liberal arts colleges including Vassar, Rhodes and Bard colleges. The seminar sought to contribute to a national conversation on the idea of liberal education and the mission of the liberal arts college amidst the extraordinary possibilities, as well as the potential pitfalls, created by digital technologies.
