The (NCAA) was seeking talent to sing the National Anthem at the NCAA Basketball Men’s Final Four Championship in Atlanta.
With encouragement from Dr. Timothy Powell, three Oglethorpe students auditioned for the opportunity—and freshman Joe Scott ’23 was chosen to sing the anthem on the national stage.
Dr. Powell, director of the Oglethorpe Singers, describes Scott as “a real asset to our quickly growing program.”
A choral scholar, Scott is a member of and the OU Chorale, Oglethorpe鈥檚 select choir.

Watch Scott perform the national anthem at the on April 4 at 12:30 p.m. at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, where Division I, II, and III basketball teams will be competing for the National Champion title. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
