The men’s and women’s basketball teams charged right into the 2018-2019 season with wins at home and on the road. But before we get to the games, a quick look at each team.
Women’s basketball returns all seven players who started 10 or more games for the Stormy Petrels during their run to the Southern Athletic Association championship in 2017-18. The team will be led by D3hoops.com Rookie of the Year and Women’s DIII News ´¡±ô±ô-´¡³¾±ð°ù¾±³¦²¹²ÔÌýSavannah LeGate.
The men’s basketball team will look to improve upon its third place finish in the SAA. Seniors Will PerryÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýTom Inungu were both named to All-Conference teams last season.
First action of the year for the women resulted in a big overtime win at crosstown rival Emory. They followed-up that with another W in their home opener against another intown foe, Agnes Scott.
Following the women’s win Tuesday at Dorough Field House, the men picked up the win in their home and regular season opener against Toccoa Falls.
³§´Ç±è³ó´Ç³¾´Ç°ù±ðÌýJacob Hadden of the men’s cross country team earned an individual spot at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Winneconne, Wisconsin. He is the first Stormy Petrel to qualify for the national cross country meet since Doug Pack did so in 1994.
