
Brookhaven City Council has appointed ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Museum of Art Director Elizabeth Peterson to the new .
The commission is comprised of city residents and arts and culture professionals who will advise the City Council on arts projects and lead the implementation of Brookhaven’s arts and culture master plan.
Adopted by the city in January 2021, “” was developed by an ad hoc arts advisory committee over a 12-month period, based on in-depth research and community outreach. The nine members of the commission include a chair, plus one representative from each of Brookhaven’s four districts, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV, , , and , the city’s convention and visitors bureau. Peterson will serve a two-year term.
The commission members are:
- Lauren Kiefer, J.D., Chair – Board of Directors, Alliance Theatre
- Tim Scarbrough, AIA – Brookhaven arts advisory committee member (District 1)
- Kimberly Landers – Teacher, Chamblee High School (District 2)
- Glenn Phillips – Development Contributor / Designer, Out Front Theatre (District 3)
- Sally Eppstein – Professional Artist (District 4)
- Jehan Williams – Director of Marketing, Explore Brookhaven
- Elizabeth Peterson – Director, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Museum of Art
- Jessica Martinez – Director of Development, Latin American Association
- Lily Pabian – Executive Director, We Love BuHi
The City Council has the importance of ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV’s arts and culture programs and facilities in the Brookhaven community. Oglethorpe’s  and the  are the only venues of their kind in Brookhaven.
