This fall, Oglethorpe welcomed 42 new to campus, who joined more than 50 Scholars continuing their studies.
TheDream.US is the nation鈥檚 largest college access and career success program for immigrant youth 鈥淒REAMers鈥� who came to the United States as children and attended K-12 schools, but are ineligible for federal financial aid. The program raises private funds and awards scholarships to help these students pay for their college education.
In 2019, Oglethorpe became the to partner with TheDream.US to provide qualified DREAMers the opportunity to achieve their higher education goals.

TheDream.US has provided more than 7,500 college scholarships to DREAMers attending more than 75 partner colleges in 19 states and Washington, DC.
College partners are committed to serving DREAMers and prepared to offer students the needed support services to help them successfully navigate college life, both on and off campus. Students must be admitted to one of the partner colleges to receive a scholarship.
Oglethorpe is committed to supporting undocumented students and continues to expand and services on campus.聽On Monday, September 27, Oglethorpe will host another for faculty and staff to learn more about the undocumented student community.
Led by Peter Dye, assistant director of community and global engagement, the workshop will provide an introduction to the immigration context, common student challenges, and share resources available to support undocumented students on campus. There will also be an opportunity to discuss additional solutions and resources that OU can implement in the future.聽 Interested students are also welcome to join.
In addition, UndocuPetrels — Oglethorpe Undocumented Student Services’ Instagram — is a place to share updates, information, and resources on campus for our undocumented student community. Students can find information on scholarship opportunities, jobs and internships, mental health services, academic support, and more.
And last year, a student-led organization called the OU Monarchs was founded to help create a community of support for undocumented students.
