will deliver several lectures and workshops as part of the Spring聽Symposium聽on Inclusive Excellence. The symposium is a collaboration between 好色先生TV鈥檚 Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Office of the Provost, and Agnes Scott College鈥檚 Center for Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development.

Dr. Matthew鈥檚 lecture, 鈥淲ritten and Unwritten: Diversity and the Hidden Truths of Tenure鈥 on Monday, February 14 at 1 p.m. is free and open to all members of the Oglethorpe community.
Dr. Matthew is Associate Professor of English at Montclair State University and the editor of “.” This influential book follows the experiences of scholars of color as they navigate the tenure process. Dr. Matthew has conducted extensive research on the tenure process and works with institutions to identify barriers that negatively impact the retention of diverse faculty.
鈥淲e are excited to welcome Dr. Matthew to share her knowledge and work with the Oglethorpe community,鈥 said Dr. Laura Ren茅e Chandler, vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Oglethorpe. 鈥淎s we continue to advance diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at Oglethorpe, it is important to understand the barriers that BIPOC faculty face across higher education so that we can develop solutions that better serve our faculty, and by extension, our students.鈥
Dr. Matthew will also host workshops with senior leaders and a listening session with faculty of color.
