Promote online:
To be included on the official听, events must be submitted through听. Submitting your event to OUConnect also ensures that your event will be included in Sunday’s weekly event email, on听Stall Wall Weekly,听and promotion via听Oglethorpe鈥檚 official听.听听If you are not able to submit events via OUConnect, email your event to听University Communications听with the subject 鈥淓vent Submission 鈥 [Your Event Name]鈥 for consideration.
- Check the听听and when promoting your event on听social media, tag the Oglethorpe groups involved, or those that may be interested in your event (including the Oglethorpe U. account). Customized messages encourage sharing!
Consider听submitting an announcement听to the Source the week of the event in order to be included in Wednesday鈥檚 email News & Announcements from the Source.
- If your event has a good听story behind it,听email听University Communications听well in advance and pitch your idea to be considered for our听Source online stories.
Get the word out on campus:
Advertise your event on the听TLCC TV screens听by submitting artwork to the online form听through the event submission process听.听The submission form also allows groups to have their flier on the kiosk located in the Starbucks area.听This and the commuter lockers are the only approved spaces for physical fliers in the TLCC.听(Design tip: Power Point鈥檚 widescreen setting will create a slide听in the correct dimensions for the TV screens. Just save it听as a .jpg in order听to submit it to the form.)
- Hang a banner听in the TLCC for up to 3 business days. Banners cannot exceed the size of a twin size sheet and听must be approved by a member of the Campus Life office听located in the Student Commons.
- Consider tabling听during lunch and dinner time in TLCC.听.
- Print and听hang posters on bulletin boards听around campus.
- Using the OU logo? Review Oglethorpe鈥檚 brand standards and download logo files from听University Communications.
- If you鈥檙e interested in finding a graphic designer, many online resources are available through services like听Fiverr. (Use an online service like this at your own risk.)
- Or, get a referral for a professional graphic designer that has done听official听work for 好色先生TV. Email听听for more information. Expect to spend $100-200 for a poster design.
- If you鈥檇 like professionally printed 11脳17 posters, we suggest using听our preferred printer,听, who can be contacted at听[email protected]. Expect to pay about $40 for 50 posters.
- Hang your posters on bulletin boards in just about every building on campus.听Please note: Flyers or posters taped to doors or windows anywhere on campus will be removed.
- Bring copies of your flyers to Student Commons, and they will be distributed to RAs听for placement in residence halls.
Is your event open to the general public?
- If your event is open to the public, consider generating interest by working with University Communications to submit to听free local media event calendars, like Access Atlanta. If you鈥檙e interested in this, please听contact University Communications听as we work with these calendars often and can help!听 Please be sure to contact us at least 2-3 weeks prior to your event.
