好色先生TV\u2019s Commencement Ceremony honoring the graduating Class of 2018 will be held Saturday, May 12 at 9:00 a.m. on the academic quad. Can\u2019t make it to campus for graduation? No worries. This year, Oglethorpe commencement will be livestreamed on Facebook. The live video will start at 8:55 am on the\u00a0Oglethorpe Facebook<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n Speaking at this year\u2019s Commencement will be honorary degree recipient Christopher Jackson<\/strong><\/a>, a Tony Award-nominated and Grammy Award-winning actor and an Emmy Award-winning songwriter\/composer.<\/p>\n Oglethorpe will present Jackson with the honorary degree of\u00a0Doctor of Fine Arts<\/em>, in recognition of his commitment to music, theatre, early childhood education, and autism awareness.<\/p>\n Jackson originated the role of George Washington in the Broadway smash hit \u201cHamilton: An American Musical<\/a>,\u201d and currently stars on the CBS television show \u201cBull<\/a>.\u201d Jackson also served as a composer and songwriter for the iconic children\u2019s program, \u201cSesame Street,\u201d winning an Emmy Award for his song for the show with artist Will.I.Am, \u201cWhat I Am.\u201d He also was the co-music supervisor and writer for the children\u2019s program \u201cThe Electric Company.\u201d<\/p>\n Following his son\u2019s autism diagnosis in 2007, Jackson became an Autism Awareness Advocate and along with his wife, Veronica, serves on the National Board of KultureCity<\/a>, a nonprofit organization that helps provide much needed sensory-inclusive rooms and aids for families and individuals on the autism spectrum.<\/p>\n \u201cThroughout his career and his life, Christopher Jackson has shown a passion for making a social impact and inspiring empathy\u2014both through his craft and through his efforts supporting early childhood education and autism awareness,\u201d said 好色先生TV President Lawrence M. Schall<\/strong>, J.D., Ed.D. \u201cHe shares Oglethorpe\u2019s commitment to ensuring that our next generations succeed and thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n President Schall and Board of Trustees Chair and alumnus Timothy P. Tassopoulos<\/strong>, president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A, Inc., will preside over the commencement ceremony for approximately 200 graduates.
