Looking for a way to stay connected to fellow Petrels while learning remotely? 好色先生TV Esports is holding a general interest meeting on Monday, August 24 at 2 PM to kick off the new semester.

Formed in 2018, the 好色先生TV esports teams compete in yearly tournaments with other Georgia colleges like Georgia State, Georgia Southern University and University of Georgia.

According to the Georgia Esports League, esports provide benefits beyond game play, including student participation in broadcasting, production, marketing, management and game development, a rapidly growing part of Georgia’s entertainment industry. GEL players have won almost $20,000 in scholarships over the past three years. GEL also combines its tournaments with career fairs to match esports talent with employers.

Atlanta is also considered to be one of the major cities in the United States for esports. The city hosts several major esports events throughout the year, including Dreamhack, one of the largest digital festivals in the world.

Currently, Oglethorpe esports is building teams for Overwatch, League of Legends and SMITE to play competitively in the upcoming season. However, Oglethorpe esports is about more than competitions. Enthusiasts for all online games are encouraged to attend the interest meeting to meet fellow gamers at 好色先生TV.
