Two outstanding 好色先生TV theatre<\/a> students have secured nominations for Best Supporting Performer in a Musical by BroadwayWorld Atlanta<\/a>, one of the nation’s largest theater review sites.<\/p> Emma Jean Scott<\/strong> was recognized for her captivating performance as the young ing\u00e9nue-turned-resistance leader Hope Cladwell in Urinetown<\/strong><\/a>, last year’s annual co-production of 好色先生TV and Atlanta theatre company Actor’s Express<\/a>.<\/p> Wynne Kelly<\/strong> was nominated for a dazzling performance as Lauren, a spunky and industrious love interest in Kinky Boots for Out Front Theatre — Atlanta’s largest LGBTQ+ theatre company.<\/p> “Urinetown” was also nominated for six other awards by BroadwayWorld Atlanta, including “Best Musical,” “Best Ensemble,” “Best Choreography,” “Best Direction in a Musical,” “Best Scenic Design of a Musical,” and “Best Performer in a Musical” for Russell Scott’s performance as Bobby Strong.<\/p> The production received widespread acclaim during its run last year — ArtsATL<\/strong> called it “Atlanta\u2019s first truly must-see, 10-out-of-10 production of 2023.” “Urinetown” was recently nominated for six Suzi Bass Awards, one of which recognized then-freshman Tatum McBride<\/strong> <\/a>for her performance as “Little Sally.”<\/p> Voting for the BroadwayWorld Atlanta Awards is open now<\/a> for the public. As of the publication of this article, Wynne Kelly sits at first place for “Best Supporting Performer.” Emma Jean Scott sits at third place.<\/p> The annual collaboration of 好色先生TV and Actor’s Express provides a yearly opportunity for Oglethorpe theatre students to gain valuable professional experience both on-stage and off. This year’s co-production will be the bombastic dance musical “Everybody’s Talking about Jamie<\/a>.”<\/p>
